Why can't PCGS customer service tell me the "Slab" date?

Mr. Hall,
I had a situation the other day where I wanted to know the date that a coin was "slabbed" by PCGS. I called PCGS customer service and asked Sylvia the Slab date for 84051.64/50069163. She said should could not do this nor has PCGS ever done this. I know I have been able to do this with other slab companies (ANACS comes to mind). Why can't PCGS disclose this information?

When we first started PCGS we wanted to establish a reliable standard that the market place could depend upon. We didn't want to date holders. That's still our position.
