Error? for sale on Ebay

Two hundred forty-eight (248) Lincoln Wheat pennies with dates ranging from 1909 to 1958; one (1) 1964 Lincoln penny;

one (1) 1925 Mercury dime. The reverse side of this dime is the reverse side of a Lincoln Wheat penny.

    Good morning.

    Thank you for your interest. You are reading the description correctly.
    The obverse side of this coin is a Mercury dime and the reverse side is a
    Lincoln Wheat penny. It appears that the two coins were soldered together
    or it was a printing mistake. We can not say for sure what happened to the
    coin.

    It's a magician's coin. I have one too with the Mercury reverse and Lincoln obverse. I hope this "coin" wasn't planted to bring in the curiousity seekers, driving up the price on these common wheats.

    This is unclaimed property sold by the state. Would be surprising if games are being played to attract bidders.

  • Guys and gals, there is nothing "fishy" about these auctions. They are for unclaimed estates in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. They do get bid up to redicilous figures though.....Ken
