This eBay seller annoys me

Linkydinkydoo

Seems like anytime I look in "collections and lots" this guy has a bazillion auctions and none of them are collections or lots, just single coins. So if I want to look at collections and lots I've got to visually filter out all his annoying ads to see them. It's starting to really piss me off lately.

Ok, I just had to get that off my chest.

"Collection(s)" is a very broad term to use in a search, no telling how many hits you'll get with it. I see phrases like "From an old time collection" and "Thinning out my collection" in quite a number of single-coin auctions.

    Cheers,

  • That's fine, but that doesn't mean someone should list single coins in
"Home > All Categories > Coins > Coins: US > Collections, Lots"

A few here and there would be understandable, but hundreds everyday is gonna make me bring the hammer down on this guy. image

I wouldn't look for it to change any time soon. As long as it makes money for Ebay, it will continue.
"What are you putting that tape on your nose for?"
    "Exactly."

  • When you go to the collections and lots catagory go to the search box and enter two spaces, a minus sign, then "buyer to pay $2.99" with the quotes. (it shoud look like -"buyer to pay $2.99" ) Make sure the "search within descriptions" box is checked . Run the search and the list you see will have all of his auctions removed from it. That's the key when you do searches and it brings up a bunch of sales by someone whose auction you don't want to waste your time looking at. Find a word or phrase that he uses in most of his auctions that aren't used by other people then include it in the search as somehing to be excluded (two spaces - and then the word or phrase in quotes") and all of the offending auctions disappear from your screen.

guys like that don't bug me too much

if you got the time you can get some bargains

his 20+ years experience has not been very good - doesn't have the mintmark thing down yet - look at his 1901 dime

he also has a 1844 ?something? can't even tell if it is English farthing or what ---

3 day auctions nearly always get lower total sale value (good for buyer - bad for seller)

don't worry - he has many at 1 cent that are not being bid on - he is paying 35 cents insertion, final values. peepal - can't do that forever, even if his acquisition costs are zero
  • Try something like this to weed out singles...

  • I would never see his coins because I do searches in specific categories. His mercury dimes are listed under mercury dimes.

  • I sent him an email. Maybe he's clueless.

  • Thanks guys for the searching tips. The fewer of his auctions I see, the better. image
