Well, more than half of the NBA teams do not have true centers. Centers are so weak in the east especially, that Ilgauskas and Brad Miller were all-stars last year.

There are maybe 6 legit centers in the entire NBA, Ming, Shaq, Brad Miller, Ilgauskas, Olowakandi and Nesterovic.

Antoine Walker -> overrated SF/PF who has his own 3 point contest every night. Guy is a freakin' PF who doesn't even shoot 40% from the field. Doesn't play D whatsoever.

Jamison -> Great SF/PF but no D.

Nowitzki -> Also a great (one of the best) SF/PF but also no D.

So there you have it. 3 SF/PF's who don't know how to play some decent defense. Nowitzki is just too soft, Jamison never heard of the word 'defense' in GS and Walker is, like I said, way overrated and just fat.
They have 2 positions, and 3 guys who can start and be the leading scorer on a number of other teams. Walker probably won't start and this will cause trouble (since he played about 42 minutes a game last season).

On top of all this, they traded their one player who actually knew how to play defense. Now they're stuck with Toothpick Bradley and Fortson (who probably won't get any playing time because of those 3).

Portland #2 comin' up.

ya this is a really dumb deal. So now dallas goes from haveing little size to no size at all.

If you add Nesterovic and Olowokandi, you should add Tsakalidis as well.

BTW, you forgot Curry and/or Chandler. They will rule the post game in the East this year.

Chandler is weak, I live right near Chicago, Curry is the only one with huge upside. Chandler is a Dennis Rodman type player, good on defense and rebounding, sucks on offense.

I think the Mavs will trade Walker for a center type player though.

I agree taker, Walker sucks, I cant stand him.

I think Boston did well in this trade. Got quite a bit for the head case Walker. For all the people who think Boston got destroyed in the deal, they got Jiri Welsch who will turn out to be a great player…plus a #1st round pick. Lafrentz will be reunited with his Kansas boy Pierce and will play very well together. Raef will dominate in the East and create space for Pierce to drive.

Dallas has a log jam now with players that play the same position. They will play zero defence and try and outscore every team. The Mavs will be very fun to watch…scores like 140-120 etc could happen with their lineup. Imagine watching fast breaks all game…..

Walker is the best player in the trade but he doesn’t listen to coaches and likes to jack up three’s from anywhere. I think Boston wins this deal….hopefully Banks can run the point in Boston.
