What do you think the seller's reaction would be if you offered him one for $50?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

....Its idiots like that who have no idea of what they are auctioning, that give us bad names. Some poor schmo will bid on this piece of crap ( at any amount of money ) and realize later that he's been taken.
....Maybe the seller MEANT to say: copper plated 1943 Wheat Cent... that's worth at least a whole dollar, as a curiosity.

  • And ... you would think that if he gets 12,000-30,000 for it he/she could absorb the 8.25 shipping cost.

This seller is just clueless. From the items he/she has purchased, it looks as if he/she knows nothing about coins.

If that does happen, the "schmo" will get what he deserves for not doing his homework......
  • Apparently you people are thinking about the 1943 Nickel plated cent. What this guy is selling is a "Nickle Plated Penny." I'm sure these gems are much more scarce than the aforementioned coin. They must be well worth the modest $30,000 BIN. In fact, the seller was probably concerned that this tremendous rarity would be stolen. That's why he didn't post a picture.

  • Nickle, not to be confused with the common metal nickel, is an extremely rare and is priceless. It could go much higher than $30k!

And we should feel sorry for a moron willing to part with $12K over no more info or expertice than that?? Any bidder on something so stupid and vaguely described deserves to be parted with their money - at any cost.
