Did anyone go to the Clifton, NJ show today?

I didn't, but I was curious if anyone did since there was a thread on it yesterday.

Anyone have a report?

I went today and posted a brief comment on it to yesterday's thread.

It was a usual Clifton show, about 25 dealers, mostly lower-priced material - junk boxes, raw US, third-rate slabs (PCI, etc.), some PCGS/NGC type coins and lots of Mint products (proof sets, mint sets, modern commems). A couple of the usual dealers were missing, but their places were filled by different dealers with the same material.

I spent some time with the foreign currency/US check dealer and watched/listened as the dealers squabbled over Kenny Starrett's table (you never know what he'll have, but whatever it is, it's priced to move and the dealers swarm over him like bees on honey)

A couple of the more "established" Clifton dealers also set up at Parsippany, but, essentially, except for one foreign coin dealer, if you think the material at Parsippany is too pricey, then Clifton is the place for you, but otherwise, it's probably not really worth more than a short trip (unless you're feeling coin-deprived).

Thanks Dave. I was curious how this show's been going since I haven't gone in so long. It sounds pretty much the
same as when I last went. What does Kenny Starrett sell? Does he go to Parsippany?

You never know what Kenny will have. He's essentially a wholesaler, so he doesn't maintain an inventory. He sells whatever he's able to buy and he'll buy just about anything.

He frequently has a bunch of mint and proof sets (US and foreign), some gold coins, some slabbed coins, a box of coins for $1 each and a double row box or two. It's always an adventure!

He doesn't have a table at Parsippany, though he sometimes walks the floor.
