home from my first coin show !

Felt the Baltimore show would be a little too intimidating for my first show,
so when I heard Michael Dixon was holding one just outside Frederick,Md.
I decided to check it out.
There were about 25-30 dealers and everyone was very friendly and helpful.
One guy did tell me it was a buyer's market for Morgans, that they were selling
at an all-time low ! Don't know what price sheets he's been reading !
Of the graded coins, I'd say about 20% PCGS
30% NGC
30% ANACS
20% others
Picked up a 1880-S PCGS MS65 Morgan and a 1904-O PCGS MS64.
Just checked the PCGS daily price guide and seems I got both for a few bucks
under todays price. More than paid for the gas .
Had a great time !

Doggedly collecting coins of the Central American Republic.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
.
For a small show just beginning, it brings out some people with some awesome coins! There was a monumental transaction take place, in the 5 figures for one coin, a coin that does not trade hands-PERIOD! I won't elaborate, but let Merz, Wolf or Ken talk about it in another thread.
.
Thanks to all who attended and made it a success!
Registry 1909-1958 Proof Lincolns
I won't comment on the 5 figure item except to say...no one would believe me anyway! Monday will be interesting, I hope it works for everyone.
Got a cool 1884-cc DMPL, 63/64. The mirrors are 10-11 inches on the Obverse and 13 inches on the reverse!!!!
Needless to say, I'll be attending the next show!!!!

Great pickup on the CC! Are you planning on slabbing it?

Just hope all my friends and family will like coins for Christmas !!!!

Edited to add: I believe ANACS is 12 inches on each side.
