What would you do in this situation???

RampageRampage Posts: 9,512 ✭✭✭✭✭
I bid and won a coin a couple of months ago. A few days go by and nothing from the seller regarding payment details.

So, I email the seller asking where to send money. Again, several days go by and no reply. So, I decided not to worry about it since the seller obviously does not understand how eBay works. But, I wanted the coin and he had his phone number listed in the ad. So, I call. No answer, three times. I finally give up.

A few days ago, I get a feedback.....POSITIVE......goes something like this: Awesome to work with. Thank you!

I look and see his feedback is now private but has no negatives. Also, important to know this......the seller was suspended for a couple of weeks.

I am perplexed. Never had this happen before. So, what do you think? Should I return the "favor" and give him a positive or not leave any at all?

I will NOT leave negative or neutral.

Thanks.

It sounds like a popular scam called " Kill them with kindness". I am worried about the current status of his feedback as private. Run from this guy. Do not bid on this auctions again. Let us know who he is so that we can flag it and not bid on his coins, assuming he lasts that long. Avoid him like the plague , this is a scam.

Cosmos66-----No, I never got the coin, which is fine, I had dozens of them already, but the price was cheap.

Brian----His feedback is 100% positive. His user ID is rivercoinco. I just was not sure if I should email him and thank him for the feedback or what. image

Forgot to add------I never paid for the coin either since I never got payment information from him.
  • I would definitely leave negative feedback for him. If he sent you payment information and you never responded he would fer sher leave negative feedback for you. It is his responsibility as a seller to complete the transaction. Just my opinion of course.

If I were you, I would just walk away thankful that I didn't loose any money.

If you leave positive feedback you are evil and wrong. image

Seriously, this guy is a dirtbag and you're considering giving him a positive so that other
people think he's OK. What are you thinking?

P.S. The funnest feedback you can leave is the Neg that can't be retaliated against. image

  • I don't understand why you will not leave neutral or negative feedback. You have gone the extra mile to contact him/her.
  • The funniest feedback I've ever seen was on a seller that sells raw, unsearched gems. The buyer left a neg with the simple message "BOUGHT DIRT". image

  • Just keep the feedback as a bonus. Save your money and go somewhere else. Who knows with such cruddy recordkeeping you may even have the coin show up in few days.

You didn't get shanked & you got a positive so I would just not worry about it. The seller probably had some kind of personal issues going on like maybe his puter crashed and he lost all info on his sales or if he was NARU he couldn't access his account to see what deals were outstanding.
    I wouldn't preclude leaving a neutral however.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • Walk away happy, why leave neg. there could be more to the story than you know

Let me reiterate, I have not intentions of leaving a negative, because maybe, as Dog97 pointed out, I do not know the whole story.

I think I will take my first choice and just walk away happy with a free positive feedback.
