A question about toning.

Do coins continue to tone (or become more toned) once they are removed from the bag/roll (or whatever it was that caused the toning) or are they "what you see is what you get"? I have a few coins that are lightly toned and I was just wondering if they would continue to change over time.

It depends- if there is contamination on the surface, they will... however, in bags/rolls/etc, they won't, as the cause of the toning will be gone once removed.
