I seems like more work now to find a set. Prior it was just two clicks to get to a baseball set. Now we have to tab down which takes longer in many cases.
No big deal either way, but it wasn't broke so why fix it?
First, let's go back to the old format. Secondly it would be nice if each collector could "program in" the sets that he likes to check on with the most frequency. A screen with all of my favorite sets that I check regularly would be very convenient.
1st page should have 4 large hyperlinks: Baseball Sets, HOF Player Sets, Player Sets (although HOF Player sets could probably go under this), and Key Card Sets.
2nd Page: List the sets as they used to be listed...its much faster.
Then again...this website still uses pictures of Warner and Faulk in their old Rams unforms, AROD in a Mariners uniform, and Pavel Bure as a Florida Panther...so what do I know.

Almost like a shopping cart.
I wish I could remember the thread that this subject came up on where some ideas were tossed out.
I think the new format blows entire herds of goats. The pull-down menus for "Baseballl Sets" and "Player Sets" are downright painful.
Why not group the "Baseball Sets" in pull-down menus by decades for the 50s-present with another section for Pre-War issues? The "Player Sets" list could be cut in half if there wasn't a seperate listing in the menu for Basic and Master sets. Why not just list the player's name and then a pop-up window comes up asking the user to choose between Basic and Master?
The way it's set up right now, it's blatantly obvious that whoever designed this layout isn't someone who actually uses the Registry.
New format sucks. Suggest they goe back to the old format. Also, why not offer a "MyPSA" funtion - like MyYahoo, MyEBay, etc - that would allow you to customize what you want to see. New format is too much work!
In the future, PSA should run a dummy test site to get user feedback before going live with site changes.
Always looking for PSA 9 or 10 Pete Maravich cards!
I'm sorry PSA, you lose with this one!!! Looks just like the SGC format, and even there people aren't registering any cards and their site is pretty lame.
Before it was easy to view other sets by clicking on it. Now I've got to go and scroll down just to look for a set to view it. Thats pretty lame.
I have a strong feeling many people aren't going to be registering there cards anymore. I like it simple and easy, but when you change it and make it a pain to look at something, it's just not worth taking the time to look at.
As a collector I like to see other sets up all at once (you had a winner there) and then maybe try and attempt a new set, but now since I'm not really seeing all the sets (I think this new way is a losing situation- just like SGC), I'd have no interest to really want to try and start that.
If it's not broke why fix it!
The old way was better, the new way is just a copy cat of SGC!
The new format is too complicated for a lazy man like myself. I like to look at others sets from time to time and this will reduce that by 95%. Which may be good as often I come up with new player sets to collect as I view others.
For what it's worth, I have made decisions to collect cards based on sets that were easily visible in the old format. If I am searching the registry now, I will most likely skip over everything else and go to the set that I'm looking for.
I know that changes have been requested by members here in the past, but I don't think that this is what anyone had in mind. Will anyone ever view the "1947 Tip Top Bread" set again? I have viewed this set in the past, but if I have to scroll through a list, I will most likely skip over this one every time.
It's a shame that some wonderful "oddball" sets will be forced into obscurity. At a time when I was just getting into some of these sets, it will now take some effort on my part to find these sets buried within the drop downs.
I agree with Gemmint. We should have a favorite section. I wrote the same thing in BJ's thread, before reading this one. Seems that Gemmint and I are on the same wavelength. Not sure if that is good or bad.

<< <i>Too much work. Why did they have to change it??? >>
I'm guessing there was getting to be too many sets and it was getting too cluttered.
I like the other way.

Anyone remember over the summer some people were complaining
about the format back then???
Any better Ideas?

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Says here, we ain't goin' back.
Wasn't there a thread not too long ago wherein everyone seemed to want the first screen to be concise ?
Ask, and ye shall receive ...
"How about a little fire Scarecrow ?"
i didnt think the original format was perfect ...but it is clearly better than this new one.

Out of sight, out of mind - not good.

From this point you could have the sets listed as they were on the old page without it being so crowded. Just my 2 cents.

Yep...thats what I was thinking....you suggestion is even better.
