Any coin shops around Boston Mass.???

It looks like I'll spend next few monts between MA and PA (95% of that time I'll be living north of Boston). Are there any coin shops one can recommend (preferably not expensive stuff)??

Thank you for the info.

So far I have Yellow Pages info and MapQuest.

I know there are some coin shows too but it looks like I'll back in PA every other week so odds are I'll miss them and maybe miss Baltimore show as well!!!image

Do you know what town you'll be in?
  • For "noth" of Boston (that would be "North" with a Mass accent) the third Sunday show is a great bet to meet some nice dealers, and possibly make some nice deals, too!
  • Just make sure you don't pahk ya cah in dah yahd across from dah bah, it'll be too short a walk if your drunk...image
What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?

I happen to live in Boston myself. J.J. Teaparty frequently has a lot of nice coins, but they do tend to overgrade. Be careful how you shop there. Also, some of the salespeople can be rather aloof. One of the best coin shops is Lincoln Stamp and Coin in Worcester - about an hour's drive west of town. You will need a car for that one, but it's worth the trip. I know the owner myself, and he's a very cool guy. There's also Kappy's in Norwood, about a half-hour ride out of Boston, or about on hour on the T - take the Orange line to Forest Hills station, and catch bus #34E. Kappy's usually got a big selection of coins, but he will try overcharge you. Again, be careful (as with any dealer, I suppose). There is a very small coin shop called Westside Stamp and Coin in Walpole, also about half an hour out of town, and also on the same bus line as Kappy's. Not a huge selection, but some very nice stuff for everyone. Also, the owner, Lou, is very knowledgable, friendly, and talkative. He's a great guy to talk shop with.

Definitely try to hit one of the shows if you can.

    We ARE watching you.

I'm staying in Danvers MA for the duration. It's a bit odd place there is a Range-Rover dealer next to a trailer park on my way backimage

Driving is not a problem I brought my car from PA (a nice 7hr drive)

Gone to the White Mountains on Saturday
  • How do you think people afford Land Rovers? They live in Trailer Parks!
