I purchased this 1975 Topps Larry Hisle in raw form while I was active with the 75 set. I'd seen it in the dealers stack at previous shows and about 6 months ago, I bought it on a lark. It's just so cool. Well. . .I had a submission to blow, so I sent it in.
I thought I'd share it with the group, but it's not for sale. It's just one of those sentimental oddball cards most of us pick up from time, so it means more to me than anyone would offer me.

So full of action, my name should be a verb.

Nice pickup. I especially like the fish eye right on his forehead! Kinda looks like a bullseye.

I think that he had surgery at the end of the 75 season to have that removed and it sold for major money a few years later at the national( if I remember correctly).

<< <i>You are correct. It went for big money at the National. Now it is being cut into smaller pieces to include in new product as game played skin defect numbered to 100. >>
But the card has to be cryogenically frozen to avoid having it decompose.

I remember a few months ago there was a thread about cards like that that did not get qualifiers. There were a bunch from 1976 and some were really bad. There was one that looked like the guy had gobs of green snots all over his face and another that looked like Capt. Lou Albino with all the rubbber bands all over his face.
There was even talk of people collecting these cards and paying quite a premium becuase it was probable that there was only going to be one card like that in existance. There were even a few examples where PSA 8 commons went for like $30.
