Question for lincoln collectors/dealers

Might be a tough question but what is PCGS looking for to get a Ms67 red or better on 20's-40's lincoln cents? Obviously struck well, but what about marks, surfaces etc..Are they using a 5x to grade these as they do with mod proofs? Anyone have a good photo example they can show online?

Thanks Much

  • Based on my recent submission experience, forget about a 67. 5x loupe? Try 30x and slight hairlines/bag marks/dings/rub, etc. gets you a 66 at best! PCGS is way tough on copper, which is why the slabs go for premium $ in the higher grades.

    Good luck, though!

An ms 67 Lincoln cent ? Try to make a 1909 VDB or a 1909.
1919 or 1925 and 1928 seem to be dates that have been working lately.
