(62) PCGS-PR70DCAM Silver Dimes Already- Perfection At The Mint

I just noticed PCGS has now slabbed (62) PCGS-PR70DCAM 2003(s) silver dimes already!! Nearly 5% of the coins showing in the pop report are now PR70DCAM!! Interesting, in 2003 the Mint essentially forgot how to make high grade MS state quarters and other MS coins - take a look at PCGS-MS68 2002 state quarters vs. 2003 for example. Yet, they are obviously cranking out perfect proof coins in 2003.

I have seen some 2003 dated PCGS-PR70DCAM clad state quarters sell for the low $300's of late. I would not be surprised to see a number of new entrants in these proof collections if prices fall into the $100-$250 range for the misc. PR70DCDAM coins. Can demand keep up with this kind of supply? image

Yep, and a truckload of silver JFKs - 24 and counting. Considering how much surface area there is on a half dollar, that's even more surprising than the dimes.

Of course, one could easily argue that the sudden explosion of PR70DCAM coins has nothing to do with any dramatic improvement in the quality of the proof product coming from the mint.

And, a new record for PR-70 DCAM Jeffersons, as well, at 41, easily eclipsing the 33 "perfect" 1989-S ...

Let's not forget that the MS coins are produced in a different facility than the proof coins. There is a major difference from that fact alone.
