And, those are true Peacock Ikes- no doubt.
TRIVIA: Anyone (other than James!) tell us how these are "Peacocks" and not just nicely toned Ikes? (What is the "tell"?)

You give me too much credit.

I have no idea how these were made, but they all have the same look, Proof, MS Silver or Clad.

The toning did not come from the govt holders.

I wasn't asking how these were made or how they came about- my trivia question was in regards as to how to spot a Peacock Ike from other toned Ikes.

It was meant to be a fun question and not one to spur a toning AT/NT debate nor did I want to take away from the joy of the topic of the Thread.

By the way, from all I can gather, Peacock Ikes have ORANGE and/or GREEN toning to them that is generally missing from nicely toned Ikes otherwise (others usually sport more BLUE and Lavender). There is also a deeper color, neon look to the rims and the obverse AND reverse will be like toned.
I own seven of these and each have these "tells". I have other wonderfully toned and rainbow toned Ikes but they're not from the same source/hoard and have a different "look" about them.

Anaconda has a cool toned Ike listed on eBay right now. His asking price? Well... look it up and be (pleasantly, if you own one yourself) surprised what these go for.
