    Yes it should.

PSA has consistently been inconsistent with its grading of back centering.

The flip side is that both SGC and GAI do not have *any* guidelines in their grading standards for back centering. PSA does -- but unfortunately does not apply them with any general consistency (the only consistency being that if you personally submit cards that are o/c on the back but fine on the front -- you are guaranteed to get the qualifier image )
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • That card is a disgrace to PSA. image

I've had borderline MCs (back of card) come back with the qualifier on my own submissions. How this did not get the qualifier is beyond me?????

  • I agree completely.Somebody was definately asleep at the wheel.I wonder how much bad press this card will get on other boards??

Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.

That card is a disgrace to PSA.

JEB -- It was nice reading your posts while you were still allowed to post here. I, for one, will miss you. image
  • You have to hand it to the seller for showing the back of the card in the auction. Most auctions dont show the back. This one leaves no surprises.
  • Cubfan, agreed!

That one should have gotten hit with the MC stick -- it's past 100/0 so even OC would be too kind.

    David,

I'm still here nearly 24 hours later! Maybe they're still sleeping? image

    Cubfan,

I agree. It is nice to see that they don't hide this from the bidders. Most sellers would not include a scan of the back (maybe even intentionally not wanting the bidders to see it). I have purchased cards from this seller in the past and I would do so again. Kudos to Omegalm@aol.com! Shame on PSA!

Hopefully I'll still be posting tomorrow! image

That's bad. Will be interesting to see if anyone grabs this one. Many collectors [including myself] don't really care about the backs of cards.

Always looking for 1957 Topps BB in PSA 9!

    Frank,

Do you not care at all about the back? I think I know what you mean ... I don't really care that much if the back is 90/10 as long as the front is 50/50 and corners are sharp. But a miscut? Especially on a HOFer (one of the most collected HOFers at that). I would have been extremely disappointed if I had bid on, and won this card without a scan of the back. I have never returned a graded card to a seller - I shouldn't have to - I should be able to trust the grading of PSA, but this one would definitely have to go back!
