Lincolns of course. But only because Tom removed his 26-S again. Maybe the MS65RD is "coming back home"?

  • Where did the 26-S go (the 65RD that is)? You don't think he's going to sell off his set, do you? On a separate note, there is a lot of updating going on which indicates to me that there are still many active collectors out there.

Tom has had a 64RD in that slot for quite a while now since I assisted him with the sale of the 65RD. I suspect once Tom places his 64RD back in the set (or perhaps a fresh coin), the set will be properly back to #2 (for now). image

Tom added in a 65rb for the 26-s. I bet it's a nice coin. I wish I could see pictures of his coins!!

It is a sensational coin. A couple less "points" than a MS64RD, but, a true gem, well struck, 26(s) with plenty of red. Very under-appreciated coin IMHO at pop 9/0. image

  • It's interesting that the coin is RB, but his set is still listed as 100% Red. I didn't know that RB coins count as red. I would think that either it is red or it isn't.
  • His set shows 100% Red...but when you go in to look at the actual individual coins it says 99.27% (or whatever 139/140 comes out to be..no I am not getting my calculator out). Anyway....maybe it rounds it up when showing the ranking of everyones (including mine!!) relative to each other. And to think I was in front of Tom for a day (or two). I won't be catching any breaks on this series...as there is too many collectors with large pocketbooks. How long I have in the top ten is anyones guess. It might not be 4 to 6 months before I am down in the 10th spot. There are some awfully nice sets that just need to finish the 140 coins to pass me up by a long ways.

You keep saying that Marc, but those sets have been going pretty slowly now that they only need the tough S's. They must be holding out for 65's or really nice 64's, in which case it will be quite a while (I guess unless someone decides to actually sell a whole bunch of such coins). I bet you'll be where you are or only slightly lower for a year or even longer.

P.S. Yes, I noticed they always round completion percent and percent red up.
  • Jaime- It could be awhile (rather than sooner)...but it will happen. Look at #13, #14, #16, #17, and #19. All will pass me when completed. The #13 and #14 sets only need to buy coins to fill the empty spots...and they will be by me. There are also collectors who could show up at any time and decide to register their set (like Charles did). We all know who some (or one) of them are out there who hasn't registered his set...and there could be others we don't even know about. Anyway...its ok...I did reach a goal of mine to complete my set in Red (with MS64 being the lowest grade). It wasn't all that easy to be honest...and took me many years.
