i need some opinions if the card without the serial # is legit, i have seen the scan of the back and it looks good to me, im just wondering why this one didnt have a serial # on it. please help if you know anything about this card.

hmm... brings back up the Marino incident...

did the seller say why there's no serial #? something about the 1 w/o the serial # looks 'less neat' but that could just be the differences in scans...the 'm' is looped longer than the serial #d one and there are some other subtle differences- i.e., the loops in the second one are smaller/tighter/shorter/more pronounced than the first

it might just be me, but if i was gonna go through the pain and effort of forging and counterfeiting, i'd take the extra second and write 23/23 on it...then play off the jersey number on ebay, like so many people do. but that's just me.

I dont recall ever seing them without the serial # or ever hearing about a error being made were the # is left out.Does the back of the one without the # say ..congrats you just pulled an auto card of Jordan or anything to show a COA on the back of the card?if not,i wouldnt touch it.

yes, it says congratulations u just received an autographed jersey of mj..blah blah blah..looks legit to me, just wondering on why it doesnt have the serial #

sometimes when a card’s damaged, UD will replace it w/a non serial #d card (simply b/c it’s too much of a hassle to set up the press again to # 1 card). however, usually they hand write the # on there or provide some other type of proof that it’s legit- especially on autos…and I’d imagine they’d do so on MJ autos simply b/c they’re so rare and counterfeits are so great.

I would contact Upper Deck with any questions. When Quasar31 (Mike) had the doubts about the Marino autos they were very quick to answer his email. Helps if you send a scan too. This is who Mike contacted:
