OK, why does a Red Sox fan have a Yankee as his icon? I know there were a few Red Sox in the '34 set. You're going to have to fix that for the next series.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

    That answer has to hurt!!!

  • There is always a bitter Cardinals fan in every crowd.
  • Cubfan,

I hope we meet in the series. It may be a bit of a fantasy, but there's always a chance.

If that's what it takes. You arrogant Stankee fans have no idea what it's like. Someday the morons that run the Sox will learn you actually need pitching to win a series. 85 years of stupidity equals 85 years on misery.

Just remember when Ruth was sold to the Yankees,Fenway park was owned by the Yankees too for s short period of time. Also, several other players were sold off to the Yankees in the years to come after the Ruth deal.

Even though I'm a NYY fan I've been pushing for a Cubs/Sox WS.It would be great if one of these teams FINALLY get their streak broken and then one of these Cities can get their long overdue championship.

Of course I'm rooting for NY but this time around it's a "Let the chips fall where they may" type attitude.

Just want to see some great baseball and there is a lot of awesome Drama this season.

Good luck Sox and Cubbies Fans!

Me too. And if the Sox are lucky enough to win the series it wouldn't be the same unless they went through the Stanks.

My worry is they somehow beat the Stanks and choke to the NL. That would be the ultimate disgrace.

Then, you would just have to tip you hat to the Cubbies. However, the Marlins(still a fairly new franchise)would be the ultimate upset for either AL team to lose to.

I know, but I just want to see the either the Cubs or Red Sox get their Stupid streak snapped.
Instead of ranting about how much I love the Yankees I'd just like to not have any expectations this time around. If the Yankees win it's just another feather in the cap.If the Cubs and Sox get in with eachother then I think that will be the ONLY WS that will be more exciting than watching the best team in all of sports History win another.

I agree that it would be tiresome to watch the Yankees win again. But then again I can't even stomach watching the Yankees at all, so maybe it would save me some time.

One note is that the Yankees are the winningest Baseball team in Sports History. In the 4 major sports the equally hated Canadiens have a better winning percentage (29% to the Yankees 27%). Even more impressive is Brazil's winning percentage (29%) on the world stage. Then there are other teams that have incredible runs like the US Olympic basketball team, and America's Cup teams.

  • To all,
I woke up early this morning from all the excitement left over from last night.
    I found I couln't sleep!
I know there are two more series to go before Boston can claim to have the championship, but this city is going nuts!
I really hope there is not a huge letdown coming up.
But Red Sox Nation is prepared for it anyways. It's the way we were raised!
    Go Sox!
