May Divest Some of My Moderns....

As I try to keep the size (physical and $) under control, selling some moderns comes to mind.

First to go will likely be proof SBAs. I will keep the 79-S T2 in 69DCAM, and sell the rest (all 69DCAM except 68DCAM on the 81-S T2).

I like my proof Ikes too much to sell, and besides I need like 5 of the 11 for the modern proof type set.

I think I have a few other spares not needed for sets....1999 CT-P in MS67, 2001-D Jeff in MS66FS, maybe a proof Sac or two, a few MS69 $5G Commems, a couple $1S commems, a few MS69 Commem 50c, 81-S T2 Kennedy MS68.... maybe more. That will be about 15 coins and a few hundred dollars. It's a start I guess!

  • A while back there was the "box of 20" thread. The idea was to pick your 20 favorite coins and sell the rest. I keep thinking about that. So I've decided to start with a "top 100" list image I went through my coins and came up with 15 I won't miss. That leaves me with about 200 image

I did the same thing over the weekend. We're in a strong market, I wanted more cash, and needed to get rid of some duplicates and coins I no longer wanted. Besides, my safe deposit boxes were crammed, and the bank has a new policy of not renting new boxes unless a customer has an account there. So I reduced my holdings by about 100 slabs and 20 raw coins and sent them to be auctioned or sold outright. It's a good thing, because I just received my latest submissions to PCGS today.

I would have a very tough time deciding, if I could keep only 20 coins, or 100 for that matter. I'd probably take the proceeds from those sold to buy type coins that I don't currently own.
