I used Georgetown and it took them way to long to deliver, how hard is it to send out the next
day or the day after that? Charmcity wasn't much better...I suggest picking someone close
to where you live and if you can skip the slowest means of delivery-UPS Ground, then do it. USPS
    Priority is much better.

  • i prefer my local shops- simply b/c i like the experience of going into the shop, getting to 'preview' the products by looking at the sample cards, looking at the other cards the dealer has for sale (i'm a cardaholic), finding out about upcoming products, finding out how prior buyers have done w/the products, and also getting to personally pick my own box. call me superstitious, but there's something about personally picking the box. and sometimes, you get to see some pretty great cards that you may not otherwise get to see...like the shop i went to today...the owner had hundreds of autographed cards that he obtained by sending into the teams-back in the days when that was more common and players signed...he had some really great autos- nolan ryan, greg maddux, mattingly, and many other players. i really enjoyed that shop, much more than the point and click impersonal experience of ebay.

however, i have ordered a few boxes off ebay, mainly higher end boxes since they were significantly cheaper than my local shops. often times, i find that if you do a search under ebay stores for the box you're looking for, you'll find buy it now prices that are cheaper than the ones you find if you do a search the regular way- i.e., not under the store section.

you might also want to do a google search for something like 'discount baseball (or basketball if you only collect 1 sport) boxes'..google often yields the greatest # of results.
  • yeh, charmcitycards is one of the best, give u pics of the products, and tell u what to expect from the boxes like the odds of pulling something + they tell u what u r guranteed in a box,

  • Just comparing some of the prices I think Dave and Adam have better prices then Charm City.
  • What I do: I go on Charm City and look at each product and look at the odds...then buy it from Dave and Adams, simply because they have much better prices.

    60+ sucessful trades on here.
  • Because the 2 card shops we have in our area suck so badly, we have to use online sites to shop for boxes. Ebay is ok but we really want reliability when it comes to ordering boxes.

We tried a number of sites & after judging each for price, customer service & speed of delivery, we found that Dave & Adams & Charm City top our list. While D&A has great pricing, Charm often does good on pricing with thier weekly specials. Both have done real well
with customer service & delivery, altho Charm gets here quicker only because they are closer to where we live.

The nicest thing about both of these online dealers is the tremendous luck we have had with great pulls from both of these dealers. Boxes we got from ebay & some other sites never gave us the great rips we have had from our top 2. We will continue to send them our business & can only hope someday that we get a decent local card shop close to us.

  • While Dave and Adams is great, I like being able to buy presell stuff on charm city, and they are reasonable if you order soon enough. Sometimes the closer to the release date the prices go up, so best to lock in early.....
I still collect Tim Duncan! Love all high end auto's, and game used basketball of Tony Parker, and Ginobili too! image This means more to me than any card...You can catch me on my site: Highlight Reel Trading
