Hey Roosey Fans I see a battle brewing

I see a battle brewing over this coin between Rick (#1 Clad Roosey King) and Mitch (Wondercoin) master coin maker How do you see it panning out and what the final price may be.

With the additions Nick just added today to his MS clad dime set, it appears to me he will take over that #1 slot (registered) in the near future. On the other hand, my recent acquisition of the sensational former #2 "White Fang" collection for a customer (thank you again Doug Wright) along with a wonderful collection beforehand suggests the "unregistered" collection is certainly a fabulous collection (silver and clad) as well. I would like to see it all "play out" in a "Showdown" early next year at a Long Beach event. I suspect by then PCGS will likely have a "global" Registry set (1946-date) just like it has a "global" set for Jeffersons. I know Nick is certainly "gearing up" to make his "second set" nearly as powerful as his "first set". The combined set of roughly 120+ MS Roosies will really be a wonderful modern collection, including a number a great scarcities in high grade FB. It should get very exciting in both the silver and clad Roosie series later this year for sure - Nick would you agree? image Wondercoin

  • I for one would like to see this coin end up in nick's set. I feel he deserves it.

on the other hand, this won't remain a pop 1 for long, and nick may well come up with a 68FB!

Mitch, I agree 100%. The clad Roosies are a very exciting series with very spirited competition. I have put
my silver set aside and am focusing solely on my clad set. Dougs set was truly a wonderful accomplishment
and will be a great addition to the world class set your client is building.

I understand a Roosie global registry set is in the works and should be out with in a few months. Unfortunately
I don't think PCGS has the time to correctly adjust the FB bonus points and weights for a global set. It boggles my mind to
think that a $45 1999P MS68FB Roosie will be equal in weight and will receive the same bonus points as a silver
MS68FB Roosie valued at almost 200 times the 99P. This is the only down fall I see in a Global set.

Yes!! The next 6 months will be a very exciting time for the Roosevelt Dime.

Nick: Actually, that would be fairly consistent with the current situation in the silver set where a $25 MS66FB carries the same weight as a $2,500- $3,000 MS68 (non-band) image

I suppose the "fairness" comes in by the fact that we all are playing by the same rules image

    Sorry Nick, (The King Lives)
I should have known better than to think that you would not be involve with the purchase of this coin. I like seeing the true spirit of collecting that is going on in the Roosevelt series and only wish to be apart. I don't have the budget you gentleman possess but patience always works for me. ( LOL Now I know why your PMed prices were so high!!!)

Do you think the seller should buy me a hot dog and a coke at the next show image

P.S. And before Bruce S. replies (and no disrespect to Cladking) - yes, I do love more the super PQ PCGS-PR67CAM Three Cent proof I bought for myself at Long Beach for around the same amount as my losing bid for this 1990 dime. I'm off to look at my 3 center to feel a bit better about my loss image
