This error ranks very high on the doubletake-o-meter. It's a first strike mirror reverse brockage (NGC put the reverse in the front of the slab) that's also struck 35% off center. Courtesy of Mike Byers and the Indian cent gods.

Mike -- if the Jets called heads with this coin it would land on its side. I'm not sure if I'm progressing but I've been interested in multiple variety/errors lately, "what are the chances of that" type coins. And I should be getting a clash soon that you'll be interested in seeing.

Now that's a cool error! It looks like a mid-80s date, certainly before 1887, but clearly 1865 or later. What date do you think it is?

The date can be narrowed down a little bit, as it has to be a pre 1886 T2 coin. All the feathers were lowered in relation to the legend on 1886 T2's and later, and this one has the higher formation. The 5th feathertip pointing to the middle of the F instead of the left tip is one of the markers.
