I have no doubt it has been cleaned. Look up on obv at "PLU" you can see the scrub marks. Among other places. JMO

Cleaned and unattractive. Save your money.

What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?

Look for a better example. Even though they are becoming harder to get, its worth the look. Be patient and go to afew shows to see what you are buying. Avoid this one... and yes is was cleaned

XF? Hardly. Wheat grains merging puts it @ F of maybe VF if I'm feeling generous. Looks like a whizzer to me.

also is the grade near right? >>

WRONG ! the answer is FINE17 cleaned/dip/light swabbin within the last few yrs
  • im sorry, ahem...that's a F15++,eagle' right wing dont do 20 and the soft ear/bowls dont do 20 either
but DANGGITT ! it's right there at it...so yeah lets just jump over reality by one whole level and go xf!!!
  • Apparently it sold for $55.62.

Trends has the following guideline prices:
    G $60
    VG $85
    F $100
    VF $110
    XF $125

I'm new to eBay and I'm trying to get guage of pricing, if that's even possible. What's your opinion of this sale price?

If you pay trends prices you usually pay too much.
Use heritage or teletrade prices realized.
Problem free vf20's seem to go for $70.

Wow! That's not even close to Trends. Should I cancel my subscription image.

    Sold For: $70.15
    Ended: September 2, 2003
    10:00 PM CDT
    Current time: 3:54 PM
    Description
    1890-CC $1 VF20 ANACS.
    Just one example.

If you use trends you will probably win alot of auctions.
  • This one looks interesting to me. 1890 CC

But again, I'm a newbie at this. What's your opinion? Thanks

Grade seems right maybe even f-12. Can't say for sure if its been cleaned or not.
Good deal at current price. $65 would be fair if its not cleaned.
  • J.S. Thanks. I was thinking it was a close F too, but I wasn't going to go above $50. Maybe I will...but time is running out.

Just visited Heritage for the first time. What's your general opinion of them. I'm usually in the $50 to $100 price range for my purchases. Are they out of my price range?

    Thanks again for the help.

...and any other online dealer recommendations would be much appreciated.

They have coins in all different grades and price ranges.
Like eBay sometimes you can find what you want and sometimes you can't.

eBay can be good or bad. Buying raw coins tends to lead to getting burned eventually. Even slabbed coins are risky but the odds are better.
