Where exactly in Parsippany is the show being held? Is there a entrance fee? The last show I attended was back in late 69 or maybe 1970 at the Ben Franklin Hotel in Philadelphia. I'd like to attend a show that's within reasonable traveling(automobile) distance. Please let me know...Thanks.
pretty simple.
Three ways to go:
Take Rt. 80 West to the Rt. 46 West exit (I think it's exit 47 but it's marked). Once on 46 West go to the to the third light & take the exit to the right for Baldwin Rd.
(Strauss Auto on right side of 46 & Burger King on the left). At the stop sign turn left, continue straight across Rt. 46 & the coin show is about 500' ahead at the PAL Building on the left.
-or-
Take 46 West from the interchange through Fairfield, Montville, and then into Parsippany. You will actually cross under Rt. 80 again.
After you go under Rt. 80, go to the third light & take the exit to the right for Baldwin Rd. (Strauss Auto on right side of 46 & Burger King
on the left). At the stop sign turn left, continue straight across Rt. 46 & the coin show is about 500' ahead at the PAL Building on the left.
-or-
If your coming from the Rt. 287 area, take 287 to the Rt. 46 East exit, go about 2 - 3 miles on Rt. 46 East, look for the PepBoys & Burger
King on the right. The next light is Baldwin Rd. Make the right onto Baldwin. Again, the PAL Building is on the left.
Parking is tough & your not allowed to park in the lots of the other buildings. You can park on the street & walk or circle for 10 minutes
in the lot like I do. It's a show worth going to with no entrance fee.

Your welcome! I hope to be there, but I'm a little short on coin $$$ right now, so I don't know. I kinda went nuts on eBay this week!

I'll probably be there, along with my young nusmatist son. Perhaps we will get the chance to finally say hello.
<< <i>Hey Jeremy,
I'll probably be there, along with my young nusmatist son. Perhaps we will get the chance to finally say hello. >>
Considering you live 5 miles from me, it's about time!
...ironinc how it'll be farther from both of our houses than if we just drove and met each other half way
Oh, and who wants to see toned stuff? If you don't, TOO BAD!
Anyone want to set a time and place to meet?
By the way, there's tons of parking at Smith Field, which is just a short walk north of the PAL building.

But Tom won't have a table to hang around... drat!
Dave- does it start at 9 or 10?
Jeremy
I'll get there about 9:40 or so.

<< <i>I may pop in this time Jeremy - before Yom Kippur I need some toned and lustrous sightings for the morrow
Did I mention I'll be bringing toners?
Proof sets... singles... morgans... bust half... OH BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And yes, a big contrast is the show from what the night holds
<< <i>why are there not any good shows in New England, Ct. I would like to go to NJ, but it is an all day deal >>
But that special coin is there waiting for you to take it home!

LOL!!
If anyone knows a better way than this, please jump in!
I would take 95 South, through NYC & come over the GW Bridge to Rt. 80 West. Then it's just what I posted above:
-or-
Take 46 West from the big Rt. 80/46/23 interchange through Fairfield, Montville, and then into Parsippany. You will actually cross under
Rt. 80 again. After you go under Rt. 80, go to the third light & take the exit to the right for Baldwin Rd. (Strauss Auto on right side of 46
& Burger King on the left). At the stop sign turn left, continue straight across Rt. 46 & the coin show is about 500' ahead at the PAL
Building on the left.
It's probably a 45 minute ride or less once you hit NJ. You'll have fun!

Hey, fountainheadgold: I see a lot of shows listed for CT, although they're mostly smaller (20-40 dealers).
If you want a bigger show, try the White Plains show - four times a year. It's about 100 dealers in October and April and about 160 dealers in November and January.

In case anyone wants to meet.

Now, do I want to leave at 11:30, or 2:00???
Oh, everyone... bring your checkbooks and support me in the hobby with some great items I'll have for sale

Tom B did the worst thing anyone could do to a collector. He showed me this incredible IHC in 63RB with absolutely amazing tone. When I asked how much he said "oh, thats not for sale. I was just showing it to you." He still seems like a good guy, so I guess I'll forgive him.

Tom's coin, by the way, is Sinin1's icon... a marvel to be seen!
Marc- as for Coz... he was doing that as a business formality
Jeremy
The seated proof was a 66, so I'll have to get more like $65.00 on that coin.
It was indeed a pleasure to meet you. You will go far!!
Oh i almost forgot his pictures are most accurate.

<< <i>Jeremy had a fine looking collection with him to show off on Sunday. The man is a walking book, a fountain of knowledge and a fine young man and he was wearing a realy cool t- shirt did you notice it?
Coz, don't forget to say how accurate my pictures are to the real things

Edited to add emphasis to cool.
One dealer - actually only one with truly better stuff had like 3 upscale merc's but way overpriced -....offering me a gorgous key merc with a very obvious water stain or something and making statements to the tune off I'll never find a nicer example yada yada yada for thousands of dollars over realistic price is well typical
Too bad I'm not into SLQ's. SLQ had his usual display of some super coins....
Coolest table for me was probably the literature stand outside
