Big money coins
1. Anyone have an idea how many differant types of coins have sold for over a $1,000,000. I only know of three 1933 $20, 1913 Nicks, and I believe an 1804 Sivler Dollar.
2. Does anyone know if a there has ever been a coin that has a mintage in the 1000's or more, the series did make it into circulation, and yet one of them sell for over $500,000
thanks

1907 Extremely High Relief St Gaudens $20 (pattern)
1804 Class I Silver $1
1804 Class III Silver $I
1870-S $1
1885 Trade $1

Coins that might sell for One million if they were sold today:
1849 Liberty $20
1822 Capped Bust $5
1870-S $3
1794 $1 Specimen
1861(-O) Confederate Half Dollar
1877 Half Union $50 (pattern)
1870-S Half Dime
Judd-1776 (pattern)
1964 Peace $1
1861 $20 Pacquet Reverse
There are coins with reported mintages of over 1000 that sell for this amount, but it is because survival rates are far less than mintages suggest, or because reported mintage is wrong. Examples would be 1822 half eagle and 1933 double eagle.

Large proof or specimen territorial gold pieces (a Kellogg piece was advertised at this price, I don't think it sold though)

Is the Smithsonian having a sale to help raise money for the $87 Billion we need to help the Iraquies??
I don't think anyone else has either of those listed coins, so there's not much chance that we'll ever know what they would sell for.
