How Life Changes In An Hour

I received an email from a member here a couple of days ago inquiring about some silver proofs I had for sale. We exchanged a few emails and scans, and he emailed me earlier today to tell me he would be sending me a Money Order in the morning.

I just checked my mail and found this message: (paraphrased)

I am just sending you this email to let you know that after I said I would be sending out your money order in the morning, I ran out to the mall. While I was gone our house caught on fire. I am not sure what of my collection I am going to have left so I am not going to be able to send out that money order right away.

  • it wasn't funny. I don't know this guy (the buyer) from Adam, but jeez.

    I can't imagine.

I'm not going to mention who it was, as I don't have the persons permission to do so, but the email I got had every other word mis spelled, when he had sent me a number of messages previously which were well thought out and error free. I thinking he has a few bad days ahead.

  • What a bummer! I hope he and his family are ok and that things work out for them! image
  • I'm right there with him. I had just agreed to buy a 22 plain strong reverse lincoln that I had
been wanting for a long time to complete my lincoln set, and Isabel sent water through 2 levels
of my house. Needless to say, I was more interested in patching my roof and fixing water
damage than buying a coin at that point. Fortunately the seller (a board member) was a class
act and had no problem with my backing out at that point. Accidents can change things around
    in a hurry.
