Too bad others have forced you to leave by attacking you. I wish you would reconsider. I am sure the people who run these wonderful forums will take care of the trouble makers when they get a chance and this will become a happy place without all the personal attacks just because you have a different opinion.
WORKING ON SEVERAL MODERN SETS. PCGS COINS ONLY FOR ME!
If it was the "modern..." thread you started, I just didn't follow what you were talking about till you got in pretty deep. I doubt anyone wants you to go.
I think they made their positions extremely clear. Yes, dlimb2, there are those who want to "run you" when they find that your positions or opinions are not in lock step with their own. Don't give them the satisfaction.
I must have missed something. The post on moderns just was a comment about his feeling that there should be more MS69-70 coins out there, and some people disagreeing. There wasn't even any insults; just people bluntly saying, "sorry, you are wrong." (And even offering $$ if dlimb2 could find the coins in PCGS slabs that he claimed should be plentiful.)
Heck, if THAT is all it takes to never post here again, you need a thicker skin. I've been irritated at some of the personal attacks that have been on this board, and wishing people would grow up; but there wasn't any hostility there that I saw.
Are there some other more hostile threads out there that I missed?

Bear, I can understand all your points. But my question is, why do some feel the need to publicly announce the fact that they will no longer post. Just stop posting and everybody will eventually figure it out.

Very good answer, Bear. Thank you for taking the time to explain.
Now to post a minimal comment to dlimb2. Please reconsider your decision to leave the forums. If somebody, or multiple somebodies, have upset you, simply ignore them and enjoy the rest of the posters on the boards. There is a lot of knowledge here as well as a lot of friendships that develop.

coppercoins and I go way back in the ebay coin chat room and we have seen stuff on the ebay chat room that would make most of your hair stand on end.
Yet we both persisted for as long as we could and even then we still both pop in now and then just in case things improve over there.
But the back and forth stuff I have seen here is rarely personal like it has been on the ebay coin chat room but there is always room for improvement but on the whole, is not too bad here.
I only wished that homerunhall would be less oriented towards banning posters and more towards merely moving offending threads into the open forum and at least giving offending posters ample warning.
I see no reason to leave until I no longer gain anything from the forum. I used to be pretty active in the eBay coin chat room, but stopped getting anything out of those conversations and came here and find the width and depth of the conversations here to be much better than on eBay.
Seems ya'll think he is leaving...and Russ even made a post to point out he was still logged in just over an hour after his post.... BUT, all dlimb2 says is that it would be his LAST POST.
He gave a very short/clear/concise message. He did NOT say that he would stay away from the forum, never login to the forum again, or be going away for any amount of time. Only that he was done posting.
For whatever reason, he has made the decision to no longer post...if he doesn't want to post and take the possibility of being attacked (or whatever it is that people do to posters that they disagree with), then I will respect his decision.
It's still a free country and this forum is still "open" to all (aside from the banned...who seem to come back if they want anyway, just under a new name/account) so he can come back to posting any time he wishes.
There is a lot of good knowledge that many people on this forum have and share. Others like to attack and drive people off. I will miss any of the knowledge that dlimb2 has that he has decided will no longer be shared in posting, but, as I said, he will still be around from the sound of it, and it is his choice.
So, to those that seem to think he is leaving the forums completely, re-read his simple post. (dlimb2, if *I* misread your intention, then feel free to PM me to correct me since you are no longer posting )
If I threatened to leave every time I dissagree with someone or over someone attacking me for my views, then I would not have lasted here five minutes on the first day I joined. My philosophy is very simple. I will participate with someone in a civilized discourse as long as its respectful and not a personal attack, if they personally attack me, then they go in my ignore user column, but I would never threaten to leave this forum, for two simple reasons.
1. I am a coin freak and I love this forum. 2. I don't take things as personally as I used to, its a very diverse community here.

I am thinking if someone needs to be "encouraged" to stay, they don't need encouragement, are just seeking reinforcement.
but that's just mean and nasty me.
