New Standing Liberty Quarter from Chelmsford show

Set up table at the Chelmsford, MA show and had a great time. Decent crowd early on but not great, things thinned out pretty early probably due to the Patriots game on TV. Met a lot of new collectors and sold some nice collector stuff, mostly Walkers, Buffalo Nickels and Morgan Dollars ranging in grade from MS60 to MS-65. Nothing earth shaking but it was fun nonetheless.

Didn't take any time to seriously scout the floor for new purchases and from what I did see there wasn't a whole lot to consider. But I did have a dealer holding a coin for me that I saw in his case last week. A 1917 Type-2 Standing Liberty Quarter PCGS MS-65 Full Head. The original skin was the first thing that caught my eye, then upon staring it down further I couldn't help but notice the great strike including full rivets, vertical shield lines and toes. A nice clean leg with no friction and very solid for the grade. It's tough to find Gem Standers with all these qualities so I had to take it home for my personal stash. Didn't mind paying over Greysheet ASK either. Hope you like the picture.

Also saw two board members (that I know of) and you guys (you know who you are) are always a pleasure to hang out with. image

Hey, nice coin Tonelover. Jon had two full cases of nice stuff available. Those of you on the West Coast should make the trip for the next show image
Must have picked that coin up after I left, either that, or you were holding out on me.
The show was per Tonelover's description. Fairly busy early on, but faded out fast. I didn't set up, but walked the floor, and I had an enjoyable time. I saw a really neat collection of later date wheat cents (mostly '56 and 56-d coins) that had some very attractive, bold, neonish violet, red and gold toning. A really cool group. I imagine we'll see these hit the market soon.
I saw a few different board members, and had a few good conversations on the floor. The New England Coin Expo is on deck Oct. 2-4, in Mansfield Ma. Who's making the trip? image

One other topic I noticed that was brought up on three different occasions, at three different tables was the brutal wait for coins sent in on a pcgs economy submission. I didn't initiate the topic either! No full fledged crying, but some steady complaining. image
