Designation review

Can anyone tell me what the service (e.g., economy, regular, express or ...) that designation review will be used?

Jc, I think you mean designation review. Lower left of the form you check off the box that says other and
write in designation review, It will help to add which designation you want them to look for. Also write in
the cost which is $10 per coin.

Sorry about the typo. Nevertheless, no one answered my question. I was asking how many days that I need to wait for the designation review? Is the waiting time in the ball park of economy service or regular service?

My designation reviews have taken 15 days or less.

I asked at Long Beach and PCGS said 20-25 business days. My last submission took 23 days. Use to be 15 days but no longer it seems..........

Okey, here is my coins' status: PCGS received on Sep 18; coin shipped back to me on Sep 29.
When I checked the status, there was no info (grades nor designation) but the shipping dates.

Jc, PCGS doesn't show grades for designation review. When I called them on it they told me that I
could check it by entering the SN number from my submission form in the verify coin slot. Try that.

When I entered the SN (3036180), this is the response I received.

To find out the results of the designation review, check the cert #s on the PCGS website. That is type in the cert. #s and see what it says about the coin. If there is no designation listed, then it did not make the cut; else it will list the designation given from the review.

For designatiuon reviews, they coin keeps the same cert. # even if the designation is added.

Whne they do a designation review - do they check out the whole coin or just the area for the designation.

I have a Roosevelt dime PCGS MS67 - that I think is closer to a 66/65 because of obverse nicks - from just looking on the reverse it has FB - would they turn that into a MS67FB - or return it and say no??

Sinin, They will only look at the area for designation. Definately worth the $10 to get the FB added.

When I submitted a bunch of Roosie's for a designation review, I became aware of the grades by looking in my registry set. Several days before I received my coins back, I checked and the coins that made FBs were noted there as FB. So if the coins you submitted are in a registry set, you can look at the set and perhaps spare yourself the task of checking each coin separately.
