Tidbit of numismatic literature history,

Hello all coin collectors, I have come upon a book sold in a old liabrary auction, and thought i would share it with you .
It is THE STANDARD COIN GUIDE, Fell's united states coin book, third revised edition, by Jacques Del Monte. Published in 1955.
as I was looking thru this book it had some very interesting prices, things you could buy in 1955 and the price they sold for according to this book.
1877 IHC unc. 10$
1909s IHC. unc. 18$
1909s vdb unc. 10$
Interesting saying in this book it calls barber coinage as morgan , such as morgan dime, half dollar and quarters,
The 1955 double die was not even made yet by this printing, This book was orgionally published in 1949,
All morgan dollars minted between 1878 and 1921, were selling for 1.50$ to 2.00$ in good, to 5.00$ in unc. except for these dates.
1893S-15.00$, 1895- 50.00$, 1903O- 15.00$, 1903S- 5.00$. These are prices in good condition does not list unc.
Bust type half dollar, 1838O in excess of 1,000$
Liberty seated half dollar, 1878S- 75.00$, 1878CC- 40.00$
1804 bust dollar in any condition, over 2,000$
Here is what it says about Trade Dollars, word for word, These coins were minted from 1873 to 1885 for the China trade and are no longer valid as money. The mint marks S or CC may appear beneath the eagle. they cost $2.50 each, except:
1873 CC $3, 1874 CC 3$, 1876 CC 3$, 1877 CC $8, 1878 $20, 1878 CC $17, 1879 to 1882 $8, 1883 $12,
1884 and 1885 over $500.
Well anyway here is some facts from the book thought yall might like a little tidbit fo history,
Lucy here is a little tidbit for you Frankis were minted 1948 to date of this printing and all were $1.00 apiece, to me that is pretty amazing considering the ones minted in 1954 were already worth $1.00 in one year!!.
V V V EEEEDDDYYY Interesting.
