He left the decimal point out or something. Should be $3.00 like the rest of his auctions.
  • still a funny error tho

I emailed to ask, I guess it comes from being married to a lawyer--don't just assume it's a typo. In any case the tooth fairy will be making an appearance soon, and I want to prove to my son that men can be on dollar coins too... the Powerpuff girls have only done shows about the SBA and Sacajawea so far. Thanks for pointing this one out!

I wonder how many reading impaired bidders will just click the PayPal link at the end and get stuck with a huge bill.

  • I made an ebay puchase just last week and the seller sent me an email with a total for shipping and insurance.

Item was $271, shipping $74.95 plus insurance of $54.00 required. Tall about getting a shock!!

Understand, the item was a little over 3 pounds total and when I protested, he threatened to report me as a non-paying bidder and give me my first neg in over 600 transactions.

He claimed eBay would back him up since he was the seller.

It didn't come down to that and I got it worked out, but still, never assume anything when dealing with strangers.

    Deadhorse,

That seller was completely nuts. Did he have any explanation for that attempted rape job?

    Russ,

I got a couple of different attempts at justification, the Hurricane, difficulty in getting it shipped. Nothing that really was germain to the issue, sort of rambling.

Basically it was that he was the seller and could name his price and he was absolutely certain he was within his rights and that eBay would back him up.

What really p!ssed me off was his immediate, not so veiled threat, to report me as non-paying and give me a neg as he referred to my 100% positive record and how he would hate to have to mess that up.

It was a line straight from an old ganster movie. image

It ended up costing me $20 more than it should have, but i felt it was worth it rather than dealing with the hassles and headaches involved.

  • I hope you did not give him positive feedback.

  • I never bid on anything on Ebay unless it has shipping/handling rates listed.
If it doesn't, the only way I would bid would be if the seller emailed me beforehand
    with the shipping info.

No, I haven't. I still don't have the item yet, but he did give me positive right after I paypaled him.

I'm not in any hurry I'm still burned by his initial threats. image

Robert, I agree. I checked his other auctions and nearly all were listed so I figured it was a simple error on his part.

You know what they say about assuming......image

Deadhorse, If I was in the circumstances you are in......... I think if I receive everything OK then I would neutral him but write threat and error to the hilt. Unless Im mistaken, if he already left you positive then nothing he can respond upon unless maybe ebay allows responses to neutrals like they do negs??. If he perhaps has any buying transactions in his feedback please pm or post his ebay handle so can blockimage
