Horizontal cards slabbed backwards?

I know this has been mentioned before. I received my first one today.

Here's a scan of my PSA 8 (slabbed correctly) and my PSA 9 (slabbed backwards):

I'm not saying that there is one correct way to view the card, but the majority (99%+) that I've seen, are slabbed with the bottom of the card to the right.

Also, I really can't argue that the PSA 9 version of this card is not correct because the card number on the back is upright, whereas the card number is upside down on the PSA 8.

I would prefer to have the front of the card facing the same direction as other horizontals regardless of the orientation of the card number on the back.

Any thoughts? Am I being too picky?

JEB.

Actually, for what it's worth, I'm ambidextrous. image

It's just that I would like some consistency. I literally have 100's of horizontals in PSA slabs, and this is the first one that I have received slabbed in this orientation.

Seriously, does anyone else have a preference, or even care which way the card is slabbed?

Just be happy they didn't slab it backwards(back side) and the grade is accurate.image

Seroiusly, you think they will reslab like a mechanical error problem?

  • Yeah I agree with you!!!
They need to be consistent. Wouldn't you put them all the same way if you were putting them into a binder or something? This is something that they should fix free of charge no questions asked.

I agree with Dave, the 8 is correct, and I"m lefthanded. This isn't Japan or Israel, we read left to right. I've got 90% slabbed this way, and the rest the other way, and it bugs me. Shouldn't a place that does grading have some standards? Lately I've been getting a mechanical error every invoice or 2. Really stupid stuff. I've heard they've long ago done away with the 3 grader thing, but doesn't anyone look at the card before sealing it? Last invoice I got a T200 that was St Louis AL slabbed as NL. It was on the invoice, and right on the damn card! When obvious things get missed you wonder about the bigger stuff.

  • I would give my right arm to be ambidextrous like you. I have known people that have had the cards reversed by PSA.

I 'spose that would sorta defeat the purpose.
  • I agree PSA should be consistent in their placement of the cards in the holdersimage
