Any recent Crossover submissions?

In the last month or so? Did PCGS include their reasoning? Did they follow your instructions?
Just got notified of a completed crossover submission. Got 50% and am wondering if I can expect a reason why a NGC MS64 Morgan dollar wouldn't even cross to MS63 - maybe they didn't even consider 63, even though I allowed for a 1 point downgrade. BTW, this was a HNAI acquisition that really should have crossed at one of the two grades.
As for the other DNC, well it was a NGC MS62PL (after NCS). I kinda' expected to get stiffed on that one.
The other two; well NGC MS63 and a ANACS MS64. (Hey Frank - I'm pretty sure the 63 was the misattributed 7/8tf with the nice peripheral toning you sold me; the 64 was a '78 Vam 41a I got from "chugalug" on eBay
1 21349630 1878 8TF S$1 DNC
2 21349631 1878 7/8TF S$1 Weak MS63
3 21349632 1878 7/8TF S$1 Weak MS64
4 21349633 1878 7/8TF S$1 Weak DNC

Same scenario with the above Two Cent piece. NGC MS64RB, and I put a minimum of MS63RB on the cross.
As noted on the submissions page, though, they are not providing information on crossovers.

opinion on at the ANA in Baltimore before I submitted it. Oh well.
Is it Registry reasons for the crossover attempts of ngc coins to pcgs?
Uniformity with the rest of your sets'?
I ask because crossovers can be expensive.
Thanks in advance.

It's uniformity - I'm sometimes anal retentive like that - I much prefer items of a particular collection similarly displayed; and that NGC bar of soap just doesn't sit well with me. Nor does it fit in the already numerous PCGS boxes I have the others in; well not with the top securely in place.
I must admit, there is also the consideration of the "perception" of a PCGS slabbed coin being somewhat desireable - but not my primary concern.
Do you find PCGS coins more "desirable" in the market as far as VAM's go?

They are more desirable to me, because they are usually unattributed and therefore less costly. As far as selling them, well, you need to be dealing with someone who either trusts your attribution or can attribute themselves. Otherwise, they will sell at common v. variety prices.
On the other hand, I find that some people think any coin with a VAM attribution is worth a premium, whether it is a common coin or not. Unless they are a Top100 or Hot50 coin, the only premium deserved is the slabbing fee, but it is almost impossible to convey that to whomever currently has a coin for sale with a VAM number assigned.
I find the same situation with most varieties in other series. The serious variety collector would much prefer to pick something off, as opposed to purchasing it outright. Understandable of course, but a touch frustrating if you are trying to sell a supposed "better" variety.
Ok, my sidetrack is done. Back to the original crossover query everyone!
