  • The seller states, "If you would like information on PGS visit the PGS Grading website."

Well, I don't think I need to go to the site - I got all of the info I needed on PGS from the auction, thank you. image

A nice mistake indeed, perhaps the submitter had it listed wrong, however an " Expert Grading Company" should catch most of these errors and slab correctly.

By the way, in the world of unheralded graders, there are at LEAST four expert grading companies with "pro" or professional in their respective names.
PRO, from Tampa Fl., the really "popular" one with most trim alegations, true or not.
PGS, from Nashville Tn., one who I feel is pretty fair and honest in general.
PCGC, from Slidel La., no comment, no personal knowledge.
PSA, from Newport Beach Ca., the standard by which other companies are judged.

    CHEERS!!
  • I've bought many PGS cards! They have been around for 3-4 years. When I started my 61 set many cards had pops of 0-2 in 8.
I fished around and found SGC, BGS, PGS cards. About a year-year and a half ago I cracked over 100 different holders.

SGC and BGS (not BVG or whatever the vintage is called) always crossed over well. All BGS cards (half grades went up) either went straight over or were bumped up a grade. That was before they relaxed the standards for vintage cards. SGC crossed about the same as they do today. Half grades were down graded to the next lower grade, 88's usually went to psa 8's.
Maybe I was just the lucky submitter that week!

PGS cards are about one grade over psa standards. I never had a card returened with evidence of trimming from PGS.
This holder is as hard, if not harder to crack than a BGS. The PGS holder is plastic and flexible. They have to be sawed open, just like the Beckett holder.
    just my 2cts.
