Does anybody collect.....

I was just wondering if anybody still collects one or two players. Base,Inserts,GU,Autos,etc. Seems like most people have gotten away from collecting ALL cards of a player(s). Everything has to be highend. Just curious

    my collection focuses on players, though it's gone from 1-2 to more like 20...a combo of players i grew up watching as a kid (along w/some legends like babe ruth etc.) to some modern players i like (usually rookies i think have a decent shot). i have some high end stuff, but i long for the days when packs didn't have gu'ed/autos guaranteed for $50/pack and more for the days where packs of 15 cards costs 25 cents...

    I guess you can look at it two ways...collecting one player is risky, beckett can screw you hard
    one month and your collection is worth hundreds maybe thousands less...now sure the real
    collector doesn't care,but the real collector also puts a lot of money into his/her collection so
    taking a price dive isn't fun...and Im not talking about the average player either, even the big
    names take hits...mcgwire, montana, elway. etc

    On the other hand, if you collect someone like Todd Hundley or Charlie Ward, you might be
    able to pick these up very cheap and have a great collection, as Im sure that Duncan
    and KG fans must battle with their own on ebay for any kind of premium card.

    I admire the one-player collector and will try to help them in any way I can here in the future!

    I collect MJ mostly(675+ cards)but do have 1 GU card of some of the Top 50 NBA players,and 1 GU of some of the star players,1 Auto/jersey of Pierce......i find i have more fun and more of a challenge to collect as many MJ cards as i can.

    i for the most part just collect marino but if i pull a nice HOF auto card i keep it and i collect nice williams cards in miami uni

    I collect brett favre and joe montana, hard to find every card made but having fun in my search. I don't care if the card is only 5 cents, if i don't have it, I want it!!!! I also collect higher end rc's from 80's to present graded and ungraded in baseball, football and basketball.

    I collect mainly Nowitzki and current mavs rookies, inserts, and gu's. I also collect Nowitzki commons for the kids.
