Help me out Jefferson collector's.....1976-D 6 steps

I recently purchased a 6 step 1976-D Jefferson raw. The coin is a solid 65+ and has a very good chance to make 66. Now the question....... Should this coin be sent to ANACS to have the 6 steps noted on the slab as PCGS doesn't distinguish this? Or is the coin as marketable in PCGS plastic? I'm leaning towards PCGS right now, but any of you want to express your opinions I welcome them.

Bruggs: PCGS designates full steps on MS Jeffs ... on your '76-D there are 38 in MS-65 FS and 16 in MS-66 FS.

Check out NGC's POP's on this date. NGC requires all 6 steps for FS designation so you will know if this is rare or not via the NGC POPS.

I haven't messed with these for a while. About two years ago I crossed some NGC FS Jeffs to PCGS FS. I did this because the same coin was worth more in the PCGS holder.

I think some folks will pay a premium for 6 full steps over a FS labeled coin that has 5.7 steps (or whatever). However these are pretty sophisticated collectors and I don't think they would care too much what holder the coin was in. Personally I would be inclined to use PCGS and just point out that the Jeff has 6 full steps.
