Ebay scam>>

I think this has been discussed here before. I was watching the news and there was
a report about "phishing". Someone with an Ebay account would get an e-mail
with a link in it. The e-mail would say you need to update your Ebay account. You
would click on the link and it would take you to a phony Ebay home page. (An
excellent electronic counterfeit copy.) They would ask you for your SSN# and
credit card #.

Yeah, but the scammers are pretty stupid. They keep sending them to me at an eMail address I don't even use for eBay.

These scams have been all over the place the last several months.

Interestingly, one of our Darkside members checked his eBay pages today, and noticed to his surprise that he was selling a $2,500 tractor he'd never owned or heard of!

The last one I got asked for my credit card number/expiration date, my drivers license number, date of birth, mother's maiden name, and even the PIN number for my ATM card! I have no clue what they thought they could do with my ATM card PIN, since they didn't ask for my ATM card number.

I get the same bogus emails claiming to be from PayPal.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • I got the ebay scam yesterday and the paypal one today. Both ask for my user name and password.

My wife and I have also received online billings, supposedly from Flowers.com for roses. Someone hacked their computers.

It's been a few weeks since I've received one. When I do, I fill in the blanks with a few choice words. I think they got the message image
