Strange Franklin Half

Can anyone in the forum tell me what is going on with this Franklin half dollar. Did this happen at the mint or afterwards? Is there any value associated with something like this, and if so how much?

Clear cut case of lamination. Have no idea on value, I'm not an error collector.

Neat major lamination or defective planchet. If it weren't for TY being struck over the affected area, I would have thought that was a strike-through. Very cool.

I will say that it's one of the boldest laminations I've ever seen. There's got to be some premium on it.

it's a lamination, & a significant 1. definitely a bit of a premium for that 1. if the lamination were still attached, it'd be worth a lot more.

in the error world this is an III-D-1 its a lamination crack planchet 25% or less of the sufface is partially or completely separated from the plachet. it come from equipment/manufacturing problems
