Is Matsui taking the place of Ichiro?

2003 UD Authentics Autograph Frames
HM1 Hideki Matsui 55/75 $250.00 $400.00
HM2 Hideki Matsui NY/75 $250.00 $400.00
HM3 Hideki Matsui TL Jsy/55 $300.00 $500.00

IS1 Ichiro Suzuki 51/75 $175.00 $300.00
IS2 Ichiro Suzuki S/75 $175.00 $300.00
IS3 Ichiro Suzuki TL Jsy/51 $250.00 $400.00

Similar numbering and maybe it's just that Matsui is a rookie but I think he's going to take the spot of Ichiro mainly because of the market he plays in...Let's face it, even if he's not better all around he's a Yankee with tradition (Not to mention a power hitter with a nice RBI count which draws a lot more attention) and not a Mariner where the tradition for the most part has been losing.

  • thats funny cause ichiro was basically a bust in my fantasy team, his #s are way down this year
  • a bust??? he is still hitting like .315. the only reason why matsui is worth more is because he is the hot new thing in japan. next year when we see the other matsui come over and it will be the same thing all over again.

  • i didnt mean bust as a suckie player i meant theyre were a few other outfielders who put up better fantasy#s, he was just a disapointing pick this yr in my view..

    hit the 5000 mark!
  • i hope so, simply b/c i have several bgs 9.5s of Matsui...though i agree- next year there will be a new hot japanese player...
  • Yes, Ichiro was the hot player from Japan for 2001-2002 and now Matsui came over and he is the hottest Japan player for 2003.

I think Matsui will get more attention versus Ichiro due to the fact that, like JSC said, he is a Yankee.
