  • On ebay they seem to go for $100 plus.
  • Thanks, guess I did OK, picked one up on EBAY for $6.50 + $3.50 postage
  • At that you did great!

That coin you got on ebay for $6.50 - was it in a PCGS slab?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • Now all you have to do is get it into a PCGS holder, then you could sell it to me for $100 image
  • Yes, in PCGS slab, here is Item #: 3046279492 , seller had it listed as uncirculated?
    Picture attached, I think.

<< <i>Beautiful Uncirculated 1964 Jefferson Nickel. In plastic case labeled 'PCGS'. PR69DCAM. Great investment, perfect condition. Found in estate sale. >>

He wasn't kidding when he said great investment! A quick 1000% for you! Rock on! image

  • Heh...Heh....Heh...

Here's FRM 2003's feedback to the Seller on this rip!!!:

<< <i>Great coin, exactly as described. Would deal with again. Thanks! A+++ >>

  • And to think I really thought there was no Santa Claus in the coin biz!!! So, do I get to buy it? Or maybe I need to hire you to be my eBay eyes?

I would clearly pay way more than what you paid even if the coin really is uncirculated. I've been looking for a cameo uncirculated Jeff... However that one looks Proof from what I can see.

    Great cherry! image

I loved the auction description where it said "in plastic case labeled 'PCGS' ". He also said "great investment" - that certainly proved to be correct!

Welcome. Should you see a similar Kennedy for sale, best to check with Russ, Ken, Dan, Marty or myself BEFORE you bid so we can give you a no obligation appraisal.image

  • Thanks for all the comments. New to the board but have been lurking for a few months.
Just getting back into collecting. Started collecting in the 60-70's, Morgans, Franklins, Kennedy's.
Then came 2 kids and a house and coins went, sold at a good time though, when silver was high in the 80's
Never been to a coin show. Enjoy reading all the posts, back in the early 80's I used to go to banks looking
for rolls of halves. Did pretty good for a while, at 1 bank I think I got 10 rolls of Franklins, it was a very small
branch office and they had to dust them off before they gave them to me. Needless to say I went right to the
local coin dealer and sold them. Have also done a little metal detecting in the past, may start that again as I
am nearing retirement. Have dealt with a few members here, mnmcoin, tgilliams, ksteelheader and MadMarty.
Haven't seen any posts from MadMarty recently, has he been banned?

Not at all....He has just been too busy "pimpin'" himself at the local coin shops and flea markets!image
  • Thanks, Marty's around, I just got 2 PM's from him once I figured out how it worked.

I think of 'stolen property' when I see sells like this where the guy doesn't know what he has.

    Great cherry!

Russ, is right and I only now noticed this post. I take my reputation as the El Cheapo Cherrypicker quite seriously, so in that vein:

    YOU SUCK! image

(And to think I stole my 1964 PR-69 DCAM for $85...)
  • Even if it were stolen, the buying community didn't bid it up to market prices unless it was a BIN or a very short aution time.

    Anyway great buy.

I can think of a dozen reasons not to have high capacity magazines, but it's the reasons I haven't thought about that I need them.
