Nice products released today.

Upper Deck Sweet Spot Baseball - Should be a pretty sweet set, as usual.
Fleer E-X Basketball - Looking forward to this one.
Upper Deck MVP Hockey - Not much of a hockey collector, so I really don't know.

Tomorrow Topps will release Bowman's Best baseball, which I'm really looking forward to NPN-wise.

If UD isn't putting great cards in a product that is 100/pack, then why do you think they are
going to load up products that are 15/pack?? If you look back, sweetspot has bombed
in the past 2 years....do we really need more Steve Garvey or Bucky Dent autos??

Fleer EX used to be a great product, now it is just junk....I thought these was supposed to
be a premuim product? Last year were regular cards...do the cards look nice?? Are they
actually going to give us autograph cards or redemption cards??

Bowman's Best used to be 2.99 a pack and now it is like 15.00 a pack..and for what? An autograph
of a minor leaguer?? Check the beckett, bowman's best is not sought after, wait for the bowman
traded stuff later on, that is what everyone will be looking for! Im sorry but is just doesn't cost
a company a lot of money to get bats and jerseys from minor league players! The price point
on this is a joke.

I would save your money on all this. UD is really putting out a pile of crap. I mean, you all have
seen the breaks on this stuff. If you MUST have sweetspot at least find the auto checklist
first and see all the Bucky Dent' and Mike Sweeneys that are in there! Am I the only one that
thinks playoff is putting out the real beef?

I loved the 98-99 EX! Credentials and Credentials Now, and the Authen-Kicks!! They should do something like that again!!

I got a box of EX today. I love that they brought back the Jambalaya's, they are sweet!!!! I'll open it tonight......

i agree JS- UD's been a crapshoot at best lately and their prices are insane given the odds of getting decent cards. i didn't used to be a fan of playoff, but lately i've found some of my best stuff from their products...and when you buy a box, you get decent cards- both looks wise and gu'ed/autos wise (though i'm not that fond of gu'ed). off the absolute memorabilia box i opened, i got the roger clemens etched glass #/150 w/a piece of jersey. i'm not that fond of jersey/swatches, etc., but clemens is one of my favorite players and the etched glass pieces are (for me) a reminder that collecting can and should be fun- and your cards/pieces should be displayed.

while sweet spot does look nice, the simple fact is the only real nice cards (i.e., babe ruth, lou gehrig, matsui auto, etc.) are EXTREMELY short printed (i.e., 1/1, 1/7). of course i still long for the days when i could get a wax pack for $.25 lol

I think this years Fleer EX is going to be a very good product. It was sliding ever since 1999 but has bounced back and is one of the better looking sets so far. Plus they got Ben Wallace auto's.......game use Fro cards are next....

gotta agree that UD has become craptacular. Spend $100 on a pack and get an Aaron Brooks jersey? Plus, SPx last year was crap, $100 for a box and you get some scrub auto/jersey RC and another useless jersey card that books, if your lucky, $40. All the SP Game Used stuff is craptacular as well and all products should get rid of the crappy 1 auto/gu per pack cuz why pay $30 for a pack and get an Aaron McKie jersey card or a David Boston jersey card. UD needs to lower prices, but I don't think that will really happen.

I can understand having to put some scrubs into a product to offset some cost,but it makes me
sick that 50-100 bucks a pack DOESN"T get you an autograph...that is just crazy! Actually can
anyone name me a UD baseball product in 2003 that has been worth the money?

Im glad to hear that EX is back as far as quality. I too really enjoyed the base cards of the late
90's. I remember pulling a Timmy rookie and not really knowing how great that was...remember
back then there were only 2 cards a pack! I also pulled an authenti kicks Iverson shoe card
that was beautiful. These essential credentials were nice too, everyone dreamed of pulling that
1/1 or 5/5...funny, I don't think Ive ever seen one! LOL

Last years product was just a half a** attempt by fleer, they really put out some garbage last
year...no greats of the game, EX was bad, no autographs. Lets hope they get it together!

Anyone notice that Leaf Certified and Elite packed power for a lot less than some of Playoffs
more pricey cards like Signature (which was awful)? Anyone here feel it is nicer to open
24 packs for 80 bucks rather than one pack for 100? How does anyone make their money back
on a box or case that cost 500 bucks?? You would have to pull a Jordan or a Lebron wouldn't you?

Man, I can't believe EX brought back JAMBALAYA inserts. Those were the best inserts and super tough to pull. The old ones still sell for major $$$ thanks to collectors over seas. All the best credentials are in Asia including the PSA 10 credentials Future #ed 1/2 Vince Carter.
I'm sold....this is the set I'm collecting along with the SPX Spectrums (as usual...)
