OT: Need help burning VCDs

I have avis and divxs downloaded. what do i need to convert them to so that they will play on my dvd player. I have a vcd compatible player and it plays burnded dvds i just need to know what to convert them to.

nero 6 ultra converts avi files to mpegs so you can burn as vcds.

warning you know..converting an avi. to mpeg takes awhile so you gotta be patient. and i would rather just use nero 6 ultra because it's more convient for when it's down converting you can burn it right away.
