You might get a bite, but I doubt it.

Missing 1/2 the listed star cards, including #46 (stupid filter disallows player name) & checklist, Robby, Yaz, Koufax and Wills RC.

Opening bid is basically SMR, right?

Basilone may chime in here with some insight.

It really isnt missing to many cards, It does have the Sandy K which is a big key card. I collect the set which is why I was interested in the item. Ive just notice a bid deal of sets being sold on ebay uncompleted and I just took an interest in it bc I collect this issue.

The true KEY cards are: #1 Steve Barber ($300+), #66 Billy O'Dell ($300+) and the Checklist ($700+). In addition the other though commons missing are #2,3, and 65 which sell for well over SMR. The star cards are pretty easy to get and can be had for a fraction of SMR....the Tough Commons are the big ones missing in my opinion.

Here are the POPs back in July when I was collecting the set..basically the cards listed are from LOWEST to HIGHEST POP in PSA 8....this should give you a picture of what is missing. Notice the top 10 out of 11 low popsare missing from this auction...but then again the min bid is less than the SMR.

Anyone want to add up the SMR of the cards offered in the auction?

Thanks for the help, But SMR for the set is around 6000 complete wouldnt you say? so is a little over half the set worth the 2500.00?

Total SMR of the cards in the auction is $3015 (according to July Online SMR). He listed #41 twice but one is really #42 Koufax. So the min bid is 82.92% of SMR. It is a good price for someone who wants to pick up a bunch in one shot if you can get it at the mininum bid.

Not a bad price at all...if you are thinking about starting the set...I would consider it.

Just keep in mind though..that many of the cards missing from the set are going to cost you well over SMR...so its cards offered here that help offset the tough ones where you are paying well over SMR (those commons I mentioned earlier).

    I hope this helps.

This is a nice set of cards. I think it has a chance to sell at 2500. The problem with the set is it's finished at PSA 8 unless you have a truckload of dough. PSA 9s are a friggin' fortune. PSA 9s for Mays, Koufax and Clemente are about 6000 for the trio. That's not mentioning trying to find a PSA 9 checklist. Of course, selling the PSA 8s would bring back some of the money, but it would only be a small fraction.

This is a really good opportunity for someone to complete their first set. There's nothing wrong with putting away a complete PSA 8 1963 Fleer set. I would guess that puts you in the top ten. Also, this set seems to hold steady in terms of popularity. 67 cards in manageable plus there's a fair amount of ungraded stuff out there. People don't want to submit unless they know they have a solid chance at a PSA 8. I happen to like the design of these cards too. If this set had a Mantle it would be worth double the SMR. Also, if my mom had a wee-wee, she'd be peeing standing up.

    Let's see what happens,

    Satan
