Alan: I trust you do not believe anything I have commented on recently is for that purpose. image

  • Mitch,

I probably missed something from another thread, but why would you think Alan might think that of you?
  • Mitch: not you.

  • Frankly, it would not surprise me for buyers to be talking about an overheated, overpriced market and warning others of prices that are too high --- while sellers might comment that prices are low and headed to the moon.

Oh, for the good old days, when all we talked about were "registry points" and who was #2 and climbing, and body bags....

  • Mitch,

I certainly don't think I implied anything like that & in fact "that implication" NEVER crossed my mind. It was just a good natured give & take about what you knew & when you knew it and the prices you were willing to pay at each step of the way (I think image ) imageimageimageimage

    Alan,

"Frankly, it would not surprise me for buyers to be talking about an overheated, overpriced market and warning others of prices that are too high"

So Alan, your position on "warning others of prices that are too high" would be: "not that there's anything wrong with that"? imageimage

p.s. Sorry your last response beat my usual edit image
  • I find it curious that the most active threads today are threads about prices.... that's all.. cheers, alan mendelson
  • >>and who was #2 and climbing, and body bags....

I have not had a body bag in a long long time. I stopped sending in coins from series that I don't know. #2? jeez who could afford #2 anymore.

    .................. yes YES!!

coins where most all of the value is what is around the coin?

coins that you just cant go out and buy ten or a hundred of and submit all the exact same coin hoping one or two or three might make the grade while the others grade less but are basically the same coin and if all were raw again are worth a few dollars or less?

or do they tell you that the market changes? and your coin could be worth from ten times to what you paid to close to 10% or less of what you paid?

sounds more like speculation/ gambleing ................ not collecting to me

    which is okie

    just let the buyer beware
