I never thought I'd sell it but here is my profit

I thought they would bury that $50 octagon with me but I couldn't pass up $38 plus this coin. ( I think I am a collector) imageimage

I would already be thinking of its upgrade.
    It's UGLY.
  • Wow. . .$2450. I love early copper, but I doubt I'd be willing to pay that much.

    Hold on...

AgentJim I read this to mean you sold a $50 gold Octagon for $38,000 plus this coin. Is that correct?

  • $2450 was the wishfull retail price of the seller. I figured it worth under 2K. (forget the sheets on this coin guys). I got all my money back on the $50 plus 38 dollars plus this coin. One (ag3 net F2) with cuts all over the reverse just sold at Heritage for 2K. A decent (although well worn) vg sold for 7K. I would love to upgrade but am happy to fill the hole with someone else's money.

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

  • To those of you who can not appreciate the significance of even a low grade 1793 cap. I believe, someday, even you will evolve to the top of the coin plato and realize the truth...LARGE CENTS RULE.

Who was it that said (I think it was God) "all other coins will eventually lead to Large Cents"

OK I realize they're not bright and shiney but that monkey mentallity that drives you to the "Big Shiney" passes as you reach numismatic puberty.
