Do you mean the double die reverse IH cent (1865) I posted recently? I wish I could just happen on one of those!
  • Yes Paul, I never was interested in error coins until I bought one by mistake...the seller did not know and I did not know. As I was new to coins and it just happened...it taught me a lesson to look at what I purchase, but I was happy over that purchase.

dlimb2 - I have to admit I only had a casual interest in varieties & errors until this past year. I consider them Farside coins -- once you cross over the normal issues never quite look the same again. You know you're beyond all help when losing an auction for a mangled coin like this annoys you more than getting outbid for a superb gem. Forum member Lakesammman, who teased me with variety images for a couple of years, should take most of the blame for my affliction.

  • I know shylock, if it were not for my error and the dealers error, I dont think I would have ever become interested in them. I was looking for the perfect coin and found greater promise in the not so perfect. Sometimes things happen for a reason, and really errors can be more fun with greater interest. But really I love them all errored or not...they all hold a place in my heart.
