It's official my two boys have started collecting coins.

With a little nudge from dad. I picked up (at the advice of Frattlaw) two Dansco albumns. One for collecting Lincoln Cents (business strikes) 1909-2006 D and one for collecting Jefferson Nickels (business strikes only) 1938-2018 P.
We just got finished going through the change we have accumulated over the last few months and Matthew Chandler has 29 Lincolns, all memorial and Jonathon David has 33. Matthew's oldest we found is a 1963 D and the newest is a 2003 D (which we found a ton of). Jonathon's oldest was a 1939 P (luckily for Jon I had found a bunch of older Jeffs in a deal I had bought, and saved them in a tube) and his newest is surprisingly a 2000 D (I thought it was weird that even though we have found a ton of 2001-2003 Lincolns we found nothing in the Jefferson series after 2000. I know the 2003s aren't out yet, but where are all the 01s and 02s? Tension even mounted as I flipped over the 1939 to see if we were lucky enought to stumble on to a D, but alas it was a P. Looks like dad will have to splurge for that one.
Anyway, all three of us had fun. I think I may even go to the bank tomorrow and pick us up some rolls to go through.
I have a bunch of uncirculated Lincolns and Jeffersons but I thought it would be more fun to find them out of circulation for the most part and then that uncirculated ones would look funny next to the circulated ones we found. What do you think? Is that the way to go.

Good-luck, I'm sure you'll find mutual happiness and a sense of closeness with Matthew and Jonathon even more now. Little boys sure do look up to their dads and I would expect many years of great experiences. I can't wait to meet them when you start taking them to shows.

"Exactly."
<< <i>One of the best laughs I've had in the last couple of days was when I gave my two-year old a box full of change to play with in the floor. He grabbed my loupe and started examining each one. Had the whole family in stitches. Can't wait to get to the point with him that you are with yours! >>
Oh yeah, I remember my youngest with the loupe, I finally had to buy him his own, he kept walking off with mine. He took that thing everywhere with him. It was so cute.
Kids are truly a gracious gift from God, I think we take them for granted.
