Isn't it incredible. This coin with approximately 100 (give or take) ever known and selling for around $1700, yet a 1953 Lincoln cent in PCGS MS-67RD sells for around $8500!
One seated liberty researcher did an estimate on this that concluded that around 250-275 pieces was the actual mintage. This makes sense on the # surviving and how it compares to the 1859. I like proof stars obverse half dimes and dimes. Blue chip type coins.
This particular ANACS coin has been around on ebay for a while now. This is at least the 3rd time I've seen it up for sale.

hey Jack---as opposed to Hi Jack, which is something that should never be said on an airplane!!
that is an interesting point you raise. and the coin looks very pleasant to my eyes. not a candidate for a dip, if you catch my drift!!
