Today, I Am A Man - Finished the 1933 Goudey Set

Finally, finished the beotch. Still need to visit PSA for a bunch of raw gradings, crossovers and some PSA crack outs. However, it's done except for Lajoie. I don't know why I picked the set, but it's been rewarding. I've looked through so many cards that my head spins like Linda Blair to think about it. My HOFers will probably be around PSA 5 average w/commons a bit lower. I wasn't as picky. I will enter it in the registry (My first set) when all is graded and done. Also, I guess I'll start doing some upgrading once I've got the whole thing on the board. It's a tremedous set and many cards were found in places you wouldn't normally expect. I'd love to sell off a large part of my remaining collection and pick up a Lajoie. The only one I've seen is the PSA 6 of Andy Madec. I believe Marty Pritchard had a PSA 4.
If anyone is looking to sell their Lajoie, keep me in mind.
Also, since I'm not handy, I'm wondering if anyone can build a large wooden display that looks like a 1933 Goudey card. I'll pick up a wrapper to put in the center. I think 12 rows of 20 cards or thereabout would be cool. If you have any ideas, let me know.
I'm going to be collecting some minor issues and cards (Curmudgeon, I picked up a Hires Test Mays. It's not as nice as yours, but it will do). But, basically, I need a rest and so does my pocketbook. So I carry a pocketbook. Big deal.
Feels good to join the rest of you and get a set done (I do have a 1963 Fleer set, but I bought that already in place).
Love to all,
Satan

I will probably upgrade to all 5s at some point. Right now, I'm tired. I want to get the cards slabbed and on the board. Then, I'll hunt Lajoie with extreme prejudice. I expect that it will be a 12 month endeavor. However, I'd like to have all 240 cards. Money is an issue. I've overspent and need time to replenish my funds.
Best,
S.
Congrats you evil sonofabich!

Nice job on the set! Good luck in your treasure hunt for the Lajoie.
hoping you could pick me up a nice Ty Cobb autograph next time you
visit home (nothing special, just "To my pal Chuck, Ty Cobb" in green
ink), assuming Cobb still has his hands,
Chuck
Thanks,
S.
